Here are some of the most often asked questions about using my service.  If you do not find an answer here, feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer your questions.

 Why should I use Premier Bike Transport instead of flying my bike?

If you send your bike with airlines, consider the following:

You must:
Purchase, rent, or borrow a bike-case. ($$)
Disassemble your bicycle and stuff it and everything else into the case.
Weigh bike / bike case not to exceed 50 lbs. or size limits ($$).
Most airlines charge an oversize bag fee to check in your bike case.($$)
Does that baggage handler have as much pride in their work as you do in your bike? 
TSA is notorious for opening bike boxes, and never closing them properly.
Bike lost with airlines.  Will your bike arrive on time?
Rent a larger vehicle for bike to the event or hotel at an increased cost.($$)
Re-assemble your Bike before the race/ event being sure to torque and fit the bike back to your specific geometry.
Repeat the process to come home. ($$)

•  How safe is my bike during transport?

With PBT, your bike and race gear are handled with care and transported in my custom trailer equipped with a state of the art alarm system.  This system provides active monitoring of the truck and trailer, providing instant notification directly to my smartphone if there is any tampering as well as an audible alarm.  Any activation of the alarm locks the trailer brakes to prevent theft of the vehicle.  On top of this, the truck and trailer location is continuously available to me via GPS tracking software.

•  Do I need to disassemble my bike for you to transport?

NO!  Your bike is transported fully assembled.  No need to remove your pedals, water bottles, CO2 cartridges or race wheels.  When I pick up your bike, I will remove the front wheel and securely mount it next to your bike in it's own wheel rack.

•  Do I need to pack my bike in a case or box?

NO!  Since your bike is transported fully assembled, a box is not necessary.

•  Is my bike insured while in your possession?

Yes! Your bike is covered up to it's current value.  This coverage is included in the cost of transport!

•  Where do I drop-off my bike? 

You would leave your bike at one of my partner multi-sport or bike shops.  It must be dropped off prior to my scheduled pick up time. 

  When do I drop off my bike?

Bike drop off schedule will be sent out approximately one week prior to the drop off day in a personal email.

•  Why are there no partner multi-sport or bike shops near me? 

Unfortunately, I cannot stop at every bike shop in every city. I try to choose shops that are close and easily accessible to major highways to improve my efficiency and to serve my clients better.

•  Do I need to remove my CO2 cartridges? 

NO!  Since I do not transport your bike by air, you can leave your cartridges and I will transport them for you.  You will no longer have to worry about locating new ones when you get to your race destination.

•  Why is my event not listed on the Race Schedule page?

I am a small, growing business and unfortunately cannot serve every event.  I encourage you to complete my survey of events if you would like me to include the event you are attending.  If I receive enough interest, I will consider adding other events.

•  Where will I find Premier Bike Transport at my event destination?

When possible, I will be positioned near the transition area or race expo during packet pickup times. At some races, that will not be possible so other arrangements will be made. I may set up at the host hotel or the local bike shop near the race venue.  A personal email with final pick up location will be sent upon my arrival at the race destination and my location is established.

•  I will not be able to attend my race, what is your refund policy? 

Cancellations made at least 21 days before the event will receive a refund of amount paid less a $50 cancellation fee.  Cancellations made less than 21 days from the event are NOT eligible for a refund.  Clients may waive the cancellation fee by applying the amount paid as credit toward a future race served by Premier Bike Transport. There is no expiration on this credit and it is transferable to anyone you choose.
